Dear Colleagues,

We are very honoured to host the 13th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) in Sardinia (Italy).

The quality of the scientific programme granted by the scientific committee of the ESGE seems to be very promising and innovative. In line with the previous annual meetings the programme will cover topics of contemporary developments of gynaecological endoscopy and in particular will focus on the uterus.

An expert meeting on the uterus will provide information on the current state of the art through lectures and plenary sessions presented by experts in the field oriented to give the classification of functional and anatomical anomalies of the uterus, to show the new imaging techniques on the uterus and to draw the best approaches to uterine pathologies. Finally, the expert meeting on the uterus will focus on the psychological, social and legal impacts related to the conservative or demolitive surgery of the uterus. Many other topics will be discussed during the different sessions of the congress: oncology, sterility, infertility, endometriosis, new endoscopy devices, hysteroscopy, pelvic floor defects, adhesions after surgery, pelvic pain contraception , IVF etc…

The session of live surgery has been organised (Thursday 14, Oct during the morning). The faculty comes from all countries of Europe and some speakers from outside of Europe are invited. The Italian Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (SEGi) in collaboration with the other Italian societies of Ob/Gyn have cooperated with the ESGE for the hospitality of people participating in this event. Many Keynote lectures, sponsored lectures and sessions have been included in the main programme.

The venue of the congress has been chosen among the beautiful areas of the whole isle of Sardinia, near Cagliari, well known all over the world for the lovely natural countryside, the colours of the sea, wonderful beaches but also rich in history, traditions and folklore. Interesting social programmes are at disposition of delegates and accompanying persons.
